Raphael talked about finding his own distinct style and voice in his artwork. I wonder if that will ever happen with me? I just love trying to techniques and subject matter and styles!
You may not be able to see it, but it's pretty obvious to me that you HAVE your own distinct style and voice in your work. I have never seen work like yours anywhere else, but I have seen work like Raphael Lopez's before. His colors and designs I think are very representative of the Mexican culture. I have a wooden painted cat I was given by a friend that she bough in Mexico, and it has that same feel... bright, beautiful colors and distinctive designs. I just browsed back in your blog and see a large body of work that is distinctively yours... and it's wonderful!
I agree with the other Judy, you do have your own style and voice. I can especially recognize your pen and watercolor journal drawings at a glance! And hey, don't stop experimenting. Remember what Emerson wrote: "A foolish consistency is the hobgobblin of little minds."
