Wet Felting workshop
I taught a wet felting workshop this weekend for Visions Art Museum in San Diego. Two mornings, 9-noon each day. This picture was taken the morning of the second day, with everyone showing what they'd made the day before.
Here's how we start, laying out merino wool roving. I supply kits and students have the choice of 3 different color ways.
Here's the end of the second day. Some have cut their pieces up, or left them whole and embroidered, needle-felted and stitched.
fun workshop! I'll be teaching wet felting again, at Quilters' Studio near Thousand Oaks, CA on May 14 & 15th (2 mornings) and again in beautiful Idyllwild Summer Arts program for two full days July 1 & 2. You can see my schedule for additional details on both of these workshops.
This looks like so much fun! Your students did a great job.
ReplyDeletewow this looks so cool. Looks like the type of project that yields something beautiful and interesting everything every time!
ReplyDeleteWhat FUN and look at all of that COLOR! Also nice that each student had their own work table -great set-up.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to come to New Jersey......I will set up some workshops for you!
ReplyDeleteJane! You've inspired me to try out my embellisher attachment for my Bernina! I'm a bit confused on your tutorial... You showed us the yellow background (felt I believe), but then there is a turquoise piece that shows up in the next picture. Can you help me understand what you've put down? Love your blog!
ReplyDelete@susan, are you talking about the machine needle felting tutorial on my blog?
