from my sketchbook ~ Okra and more

I had to ask the guy at the Saluda, North Carolina, Farmers Market, what it was. "An okra," he replied. Mildly interesting to paint, but really fun to cut in half and stamp!

  1. Hah! At least they are good for something! I confess I have no love for okra as a food, but I do like the stamp image!

  2. Absolutely dislike okra to eat (although now living in the south I am told fried okra is delish!) but they do make an interesting stamp image.

  3. As a transplanted Yankee, I have to defend BOTH okra and grits! LOL If they are prepared properly, they are very good, and good for you too!
Jane I love seeing your completed page! Those garden shears are fantastic! Brings back great memories of a fun class! Thanks again, so very much!

  4. OH, Jane! This is a most beautiful page! I was so caught up in watching what you were doing in each demo that I didn't even notice you were doing it all on the same page :-? What a cool visual memory of the day!? Once again, you inspire me.

I LOVED the 2 online classes that I took from you and was doing quite well until a couple of big quilting and knitting projects got in the way. This page has inspired me to get myself drawing again. Thank you. Love the okra stamp...so pretty.

  7. It is tasty to eat, too. Now, I will have to buy some so I can cut it up and stamp.
