We had a sketchcrawl at Stone Farms in Escondido recently. It is a wonderful little farm, where they grow the produce for their restaurants (and they serve Stone Brewery Beer!)

We look cold in the photo, but most of the morning was sunny and nice!

There was a whole section of passion flowers and their fruits. I've always been fascinated by passion flowers, who wouldn't be? So I set myself up and drew the stages of the plant.

Since I'm into making smoothies and juices, I wanted to draw the kale and swiss chard that goes into my healthy drinks.

  6. Beautiful, inspiring sketches. Especially the Lacinato kale; you nailed a very difficult subject.

  7. What a wonderful page! Wish I lived close enough to go out with you ladies!!! I was in CA for work last week and noticed so much plant life we don't have in the Pacific Northwest. Can't wait to go back again in January- do you ever let visitors come along on a sketch crawl?
