Use a Pine Cone Stencil to create unique napkins (S367)

Pine Cone Stencil (S367) for StencilGirl Products by Jane LaFazio
>>>>>>>>    Jane LaFazio Stencils. <<<<<<<<<

I love using stencils on fabric! Here's how I created a set of napkins using the pine cone stencil I designed.
I used liquid acrylic ink and cosmetic sponges to apply the color through the stencil.
Lifting the stencil for the big reveal

Use different colors to created this lovely variety in the color

I used plain cotton, 200 thread couut

Once I was done stenciling and the ink was dry, I decided to dip the whole piece of cloth in coffee to tint it. After the coffee was dry, I washed the fabric in the washing machine on gentle cycle.

Then, I tore the fabric into napkin size squares and hemmed the edges.

A Pine Cone Stencil inspired by a carved stamp (S369)

Inspiration for Pine Cone stencil S369. by Jane LaFazio
The other stencils in my Pine Cone Stencil series for StencilGirl Products were all inspired by my drawings. But stencil S369 came from a stamp I carved from one of my drawings. StencilGirl cleverly made it a mask stencil. You can carefully remove  the image from the stencil and have the silhouette to create a mask as I've done below.

This stencil (S369) comes with a mask. After I carefully removed the detailed pine cone, I used the stencil silhouette and white gesso and a cosmetic sponge to create the image below. Then, I put the detailed pine cone image back into the silhouette and stenciled with turquoise acrylic to create the image above. Cool, huh? (When you have the stencil in your hand, you'll understand my directions easily, I promise!)

And here's more of Pine Cone Stencil S369, without removing the mask. These are done on fabric with acrylic inks and a cosmetic sponge.

Pine Cone Stencil Mobile by Jane LaFazio
I wanted to create some new fun projects with my new Pine Cone Stencils, so I created this paper mobile. Here's how I did it:
Spray Krylon Spray Gesso, using a pine cone stencil on brown craft paper

Cut out the pine cone images and glue to a book page

Trim around the book page. Cut out small hearts from book page too.
Machine stitch through the hearts and then pine cones to create a mobile
Keep stitching the space between the images to attach and then hang them
Here's the finished mobile

Pine Cone Stencil (S366) designed by Jane LaFazio for StencilGirl Products

 >>>>>>>> Jane LaFazio Stencils<<<<<<

For the image above, I machine zig zag stitched pieces of left over paper together using orange thread. Then I stenciled on top, using acrylic ink and a cosmetic sponge.

For the image above I stenciled with acrylic paint and a foam brush on top of nature mono-print. I added a little more definition around the stencil using a color pencil.
