from my sketchbook ~ Poinsettias x 2

Poinsettia take 1 by Jane LaFazio

I did the poinsettia above in the evening under artificial light. When I looked at it the next morning, I thought it looked dark. So, I did a new one, in the daylight.

watercolor

In retrospect, I like it this way, with no background color.

I did the background in color pencil, then a layer of watercolor and then, outlined the leaves with a white signo uniball pen.

#addictedtocrochet

I'm still crocheting like mad! It's been one year, and I don't even want to tell you how many shawls I now own! Friend me on Ravelry to see the patterns and yarn I use.

All of these are Malabrigo yarn. It's my favorite!

ART QUILTS: The House Quilt Project and Quilting Arts Magazine

I created this 14x14 inch quilt to donate to  The House Quilt Project
I had my watercolors printed on fabric by Spoonflower.

It started like this...

Then I added the flowers and hand stitching.  I hope the family that receives it likes it.

I have an article in this issue of Quilting Arts Magazine Dec/Jan 2019
My article is about travel and how it influences my artwork. These small quilts are in the magazine and inspired by my trip to Cuba earlier this year.
