This is a jacaranda pod. We have jacaranda trees in San Diego, but not with 18 inch pods like this! I gathered about a dozen of them, and brought them home in my husb's golf club bag. I'm planning on doing something fabulous artwise with them. Stayed tuned.

Jane, we have a profusion of Jacaranda trees here in Upcountry Maui. We've had such good rain so far this winter that we are hoping for a spectacular blooming year. They start to take off in April and May.
ReplyDeleteI love them, but we have one right near our driveway that makes a huge mess. I prefer to enjoy them from afar.
