I'm producing a workshop. It's going to be really great!
Layered Marbling with Jo Fitsell –
Date: January 26 and 27, 2013
Time: 10am to 4pm each day
Cost: $190 limited to 20 people Materials fee: $20 Student supply list provided upon registration.
Location: Workshop will take place inside San Diego Watercolor Society’s light filled education center, located in NTC Liberty Station in the Pt. Loma area of San Diego, CA.
Description: Learn an updated version of an ancient technique made easier with new products. Marbling is the process of dropping thinned paints on the surface of thickened water. Gorgeous and colorful organic shapes layered one on top of the other renders rich and deep colors with a soft enough hand to machine or hand quilt. Traditional patterns can also be achieved, plus using stencils to gain more control and floating objects in the paint to create interest. Students will leave with yards of unusually spontaneous and deeply colored fabrics OR PAPERS ready to put into your next work of art.
