    I grew up in the California desert and beach areas and have never seen these.
    They are just toooo beautiful to bear.
    Now I will ask my brother who lives in the California high desert if he knows of these.

  11. These are my very favorite flowers. I can not grow them in my yard BUT where I walk the dogs 2 times a day are area filled with these. I walk by and just love them, we are so lucky to have so many right there for me to enjoy. Susann

  18. These flowers are so freaky. Whenever I encounter them I photograph them too. They are like a caricature, or something ... it's hard to believe they are real.
