Lovely quilt.Seeing this brought me out in song - 'got to pick a pocket or two ..oo...' except I changed the words 'to got to fill a pocket or two'...
ReplyDeleteJane I am curious to know if you sew each individual square to a backing piece before applique to the background? I love the stitches on each piece. This looks like the perfect take along piece for summer!
ReplyDeleteYes, I did each one individually. Thanks
DeleteI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! (Sorry for the screaming!)
ReplyDeleteAwesome piece, Jane! I am getting more into hand stitching these days, and really love the details you have added to each piece!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It reminds me so much of the Taos colors we just vied! When did you do this? Before breakfast?
ReplyDeleteHa! Actually It was created based on colonial Santa Fe colors...from the retreat I taught in April in Santa Fe.
DeleteSOOOOOOO cool, Jane! You're inspiring me to pick up the art quilt I'm supposed to be working on right now. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Jane, I love it! How do you continue to make so many wonderful, different pieces?!
ReplyDeleteI love the roughness and detail Jane . . . a true taonga.
ReplyDeleteThis piece is indeed a treasure. I love the free and easy style of it and the colours are wonderful. Are the colours indicative of your surrounding area? Dianne.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dianne. The colors are New Mexico inspired.
