Nice, France. The French Riviera! |
beautiful light. beautiful architecture |
After teaching for a week in Italy, I traveled to Nice, France, to meet a new group of students and travel the French Riviera with them.
Me and my student/friends in Nice, France |
If you follow this blog, you know I love a farmers market and Nice has one every day!
the perfect setting! in a cafe, in France, sketching and watercolor |

And the finish to a perfect morning at the market : a goat cheese salad!
You take the most amazing photos and your illustrations are a perfect compliment. TFS!
ReplyDeleteEvery picture is lovely, but my favorite is the cafe-sketching-peony -buying one! What a treat.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jane, Nice is one of my favorite places!!! Have you found that amazing art shop? Did you take the #100 bus to Monte Carlo along the scenic highway that skirts the sea, and ogle the boats? How I love the tiny bakery in the village of Villefranche? I bet you love it, too! Oh, the tarte citron! The fig bread! Did you happen to go to St. Paul du Vence? If you did I am sure you painted those charming doorways. They are the best anywhere. And the cemetery there, so charming.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I'd been there sketching!!! I will never forget sketching the tiny aged lady who was sweeping the streets with the most beautiful old broom I've ever seen. I hope your trip was as memorable. Perhaps one day we will be there together; I would so enjoy that!
Thanks for sharing on your blog. You have taken me back there, to such happy memories.
I visited Monaco last time, I was there. What a grand city! and we did go to Villefranche too. Haven't been to St. Paul du Vence....The French Riviera is sooo beautiful with so much to explore!
DeleteBonjour chère amie,
ReplyDeleteMerci pour ce joli billet qui fait honneur à une ville que j'affectionne.
Vos croquis sont aussi merveilleux.
