Gone with the wind.... that is the first thing that popped into my head... I love the stitching flowers and the leaves...
ReplyDeleteNo ideas on a title, but I love it! Really like the scrim used on the feather... I've been using a lot of hand dyed scrim on "Shabby Chic" scarves this summer, and it adds such wonderful texture to them. How about "Flora & Fauna" for a title?
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any title suggestions but I wanted to comment anyway. This piece really speaks to me. It's amazing! Love the hand stitching.
ReplyDeleteLove this, Jane. I know you will come up with a good name for it but here is a suggestion: Ode to Autumn. I've been following your tutorial on the Strathmore site, thanks for putting that together. I love the flimsy scrim and the paper included in this quilt. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteoh wow your quilt is gorgeous, Annette x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! Title suggestion, Natures bits and pieces.
ReplyDeleteJane, another gorgeous baby!!! You astound me!!
ReplyDeleteThe names that come to mind are
'Autumn Joy' and Fall Flora'.
Be well!
Love and hugs to Don! 😊

I don't have a name to suggest for you but I am loving the color scheme of this piece.
ReplyDeleteI can't suggest a name for this piece Jane but I am loving the color scheme you chose.
ReplyDeleteHow about Eventide.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so yummy. Not sure about a name, that is usually where I lack imagination. :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful...how about a title with the word Symphony in it, like Floral Symphony or Symphony in Stitches
ReplyDeleteThe name "Amber Quills" comes to mind. I love the suggestions too and think the cheesecloth in the feather is so evocative of the fragility of down. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me the "Autumn Wildflower Field" where I go to walk! This is so cool! Do you have to have a special kind of sewing machine to do the free motion sewing? I haven't had my machine out in ages...but this looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, Roxanne, I have a Bernina (seen here http://janeville.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-studio-virtual-tour.html) but I used to free motion stitch with my $200 Singer too! thanks!
DeleteI love the mix of colors and textures. It is both lively and subdued. Looks like an "Autumnal Delight" to me.
ReplyDeleteYay for hand stitching! It is lovely combined with the free motion and the different textures all work beautifully together.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! May I suggest, "Free Motion Bloom"? or "Bloom in Motion"? or how about "Free Spirit Bloom"??
ReplyDeleteHave you ever told us how big/small it is? I'm curious~

ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Please show the whole quilt also when you're done.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, how big is it?
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty small. About 11x12 inches. I'm thinking I might add more to make it larger...
DeleteThe first thing that popped into my head was "Free Flowing Spring). This is a beautiful piece!!
ReplyDelete"Mine!" :)
ReplyDeletethanks Kathy!! when I get it done, I'll let you know! :-)
DeleteColor crush and huge feather love!
