Recycled Circles DVD giveaway

my new DVD

Layered and Fused Appliqué Quilts: From Fabric Scraps to Recycled Circles with Jane LaFazio is my newest instructional DVD. I love this technique and have taught it nationally for a number of years. It's so darn flexible, and every single one is a success. Really. It's not difficult, it's great for beginners, and could even be adapted for kids. You just have to follow the directions, and not try to second guess me. Here are some of my Recycled Circles throughout the years:

  10. Your recycled circles are very enjoyable to look at. Is it the circle pattern that seems to draw one in to explore more of the rich colors and design? They are like little works of art bursting with color and fun. And yet I could read so much more into it like how each block unit is different but all four add to the whole design, which could represent each person is a unique individual but all of us make up a whole design in God's eye, without each other the circle would be incomplete... well you get the idea.

  11. I especially like those with the appliqued circles on top of the main circle. These have always fascinated me!!!

  29. I am lucky to have a creative reuse store in my community that sells fabric, art and office supplies, embellishments, ephemera and all kinds of other cast offs that our local arts and education community use to create with and protect our environment. The store is an earned income fundraiser for our local schools foundation, which helps teachers with classroom supplies. For 2 years I have been a volunteer and regular shopper at the store. Your wonderful tutorials have given me inspiration and skills to incorporate the many one of a kind items I purchase at the store. Your Recycled Circles DVD would give me a new set of skills and ideas to further use all the interesting fabric scraps available there. And my first project would be a wall quilt that has the recycling chasing arrows based on the recycled circles motif that the store can hang on their wall.

  93. Very creative and colorful ~~~ and I think most people are drawn to circles for a number of reasons, including the fact that we spend so much time boxed in and surrounded by rectangles in various forms.
Can also visualize these made up into great "denim-friendly" tote bags.

As a recent college graduate (pushing 60) and current arts instructor, I am very interested in learning how to teach workshops and put together A/V trainings, and have been hoping to be able to take one of your workshops at Random Arts before too long.
Even on an information overload, too much email day, I look forward to opening your colorful posts. Thank you, Jane!

  121. I am reading a book by Pema Chodrin - Living Beautifully with Uncertainty and Change. I read this about mandalas ...

"Each person's life is like a mandala- a vast, limitless circle. We stand in the center of our own circle, and everything we see, hear and think forms the mandala of our life ... Everything that shows up in your mandala is a vehicle for your awakening. From this point of view, awakening is right at your fingertips continually ... it's up to you whether your life is a mandala of neurosis or a mandala of sanity."

I look at your recycled circles and they remind me of mandalas - they tell a story all of their own using fabric, thread and stitch. I have wanted to make one of your recycled circles for a very long time. I would love to learn how to do this directly from you so I am putting it out there and will see what happens.

    Thank you for this opportunity.

  169. I have been looking at your circles for awhile. I love polka dots, circles and colors. Piles of cool fabric keeps sneaking into my studio and suddenly I got this great idea of how I could use your book for part of a bigger project I am working on and getting ready for a show. Not quite circles! I would love your book, but even if I don't win it, I think I have just jump started yet another aspect on The Egg Project!

Oh, yes, I would love to have your DVD. I took your clas in Chicago and that piece is hanging on our wall -- I tell people it's the most expensive piece of art I own, with the framing and the airfare! I would love to make more, but I need your guiding hand! Shirley H.
