Remember my trip to Havana, in January 2012? What a great adventure that was. I even self-published a book of my photos, cleverly called "Cuba" that you can buy. But I digress.

I created a quilt from some of my photos, using spoonflower, and lace and other cloth and it was just juried into the San Diego Art Institute's Southern California Regional Award Exhibition.  The Institute is located in Balboa Park, and the exhibition will run April 5-May 18 and the reception is Saturday, April 5 from 6-8pm. See you there?

  5. GORGEOUS!!!! I have a question if you don't mind... I'm repairing an old quilt that was made into a jacket. I'm using found lace/doilies to cover worn spaces. When you apply the doilies how much stitching do you use to keep it in place? I'm just not sure if I need to stitch the whole thing down or tack it down in certain areas. Do you use any adhesive to hold it in place? I have toyed with using fabric glue.... or possibly temp quilt basting spray. Thanks for any suggestions you can share with me. Emie

    1. thanks, Ernie. I don't use fabric glue and I usually hand stitch the lace, doilies. Though, my pieces aren't worn, they just hang on the way.
