green leaf

Greens. There are a million different shades of green. In preparation for the online "Sketching & Watercolor: Journal Style" class, I'm planning a lesson just on greens.

  1. sounds like a great idea for a watercolor class. I love mixing greens (and reds, and blues and all of the rest of those colors).

  2. I have realized how the greens are so hard to work with or control. They just take over and "poison" a painting sometimes!
I've learned to limit greens to just an outline or impression, dull them down, substitute other colors to make a more pleasing painting...also studying how other
artists used them. Winslow Homer and Cezanne...

Thanks so much for visiting!
