Havana ~ an exquisite moment in time

Havana, Cuba had its exquisite moment of time in the early 1900s. This quilt celebrates that moment and acknowledges the decaying beauty of Havana now.

I'm thrilled to be juried into the  Dinner at Eight exhibition!
"An Exquisite Moment" was the theme and I chose to honor Havana's glory days and the beautiful wreck it has become. (You can see photos that inspired this quilt, from my trip to Havana in January 2012,  here   and here and here and my self published book of photos here.)
My quilt and 32 other Exquisite Moments will be on exhibition at the
International Quilt Festival in Long Beach; August 1-4, 2013; sponsored by Moore's Sewing Centers and International Quilt Festival in Houston; Oct 31- Nov 3, 2013; sponsored by Havel's Scissors

    What an exquisite quilt! The colors textures and motifs are all lovely. I only wish I could observe it for real to see all those layers.
