I'm Jane LaFazio ~ an 8 minute video

I'm Jane LaFazio from Jane LaFazio on Vimeo.

I'm currently taking Jennifer Louden's online course, Teach Now so I can become a better teacher. One of the assignments was to make a video telling a story. Well, this is my story and a variation of how I introduce myself in my classes

(I forgot to mention huge career influences and mentors like Danny Gregory and Pokey Bolton, and being published in the magazines Cloth Paper Scissors and Quilting Arts.)

Everyone has a story. Everyone. Tell yours. Listen to other people's. That how we connect.
Kim Mailhot, aka The Rock Fairy via Patti Digh

Patti Digh writes: It is clear to me that the shortest distance between two people is a story. If I know your story, I can connect with you at a deeper level, from a place of deeper understanding, and perhaps even from a place of knowing, of recognition. When I know your story, you become a “who” to me, and not just a “what.” Categories break down, dissolve.
As Madeleine L’Engle has said, “Stories make us more alive, more human, more courageous, more loving.” They make us who we are. And they connect us in ways we can hardly imagine."

  1. I love your story. Thanks for sharing. It is nice to get to know people on a more personal basis.

  2. Of course I've heard your incredible story before, but I could listen to it every single day! You and Don never cease to amaze me, and I'm so glad that you are in my life!

  3. Jane - Thank you. Your story really rang true for me, in oh, so many ways. I think it is the most inspiring thing I've ever heard. I'm grateful for the sharing.

  4. I loved your video. I had heard bits and pieces of your story, but never the whole thing all together. No wonder you are so amazing, dear Jane. I still don't think an eight minute video could ever capture all there is of Jane LaFazio, but it was a great try! ;-) Seriously, thank you for sharing. Like Judy said, so glad that you are in my life.

  5. Thank you SO much for sharing your journey. I cannot wait to meet you in person!!!

  6. I look forward to getting the emails of your inspiring work each day, and it was so nice to get to know you a bit through the video. Thank you.

  8. Thank you for sharing your story!

  9. I loved hearing YOUR story Jane. You have such an infectious smile and are such a beautiful person. Btw...loved, loved, loved your 'T on T' class at CREATE nj (one of the suitcase girls).
