You saw me making these flowers on this post. I just cut them from egg cartons. Each one is different, and once you get started, you'll come up with all kinds of flowers and petal arrangements.

Then I painted them with acrylic paint. The egg carton material really sucks up the paint, like a blotter, so it's better to do a first coat with off-white paint, or gesso, or even matte medium. Notice how I stayed with a consistent color scheme. (Of course, for Christmas you could go with red and green, or for Valentines day, just shades of red etc...)

To make the wreath, I used a metal one (from a crafts store) but you could use any kind of wreath shape. I wrapped mine in brown paper towels, cuz that's all I had, and glue gunned it together.

Once all my flowers were dry, I attached them with the glue gun.

I added a bit of glue, and then tiny red beads into some of the centers.

Honestly, I love this wreath, and I have many more ideas for egg carton flowers. Check out my egg carton succulents here.

  1. Love your wreath! I have been thinking about making artistic wreaths myself! As well as trying to think of ways to use Styrofoam eggs cartons (instead of just using them for paint palettes). Don't they say something like.. great minds think alike?!! :)
