A look back at my Tree of Life series

Oaxaca Tree of Life
Tree of Life Oaxaca (30x22") by Jane LaFazio
A number of years ago (like maybe 10-14) I created a series of Tree of Life paintings. Still one of my favorite themes. They were all done watercolor paper, painted with watercolor and embellished with collage, charms and stitching.

Below, is a needlepoint kit designed from my Tree of Life Oaxaca. Pretty cool huh? She worked hard to replicate it as best she could, down to the size and embellishments.

  2. I like your tree of life series. I did a tree of life series several years ago-art quilts-trees of life from different cultures.

  4. I love the how these Tree of Life quilts incorporate the Mexican heritage: belief in family, nature, religion, traditions, plus all the Milagros. Visually appealing and thought provoking. Just like the others who have commented, the Tree of Life has always been a favorite of mine. I also like Janet Ghio's idea of creating them from different cultures. Thank you for ALL of your inspiring work.
