More paper work
Is there such a thing as too cute? no! this is SOOO CUTE! Yes, another Saturday spent with my new favorite book.
Funny, I thought my husband would enjoy an afternoon spent folding flowers with me...hmm. not so much. Like the time I had him help me make felted soap. Not his thing...
I tried spray painting the page first, with a stencil, but I like the plain pages best, I think.
No, I'm not on the payroll of the author or publisher of the book, (they don't even know I'm a fan) it's just a craft that really speaks to me. It's just so accessible.

I like the non stenciled pages too. I find it all beautiful; I love the color and textures.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful, Jane!!! Seems like it would be very "zen" to do all that folding. Perhaps a good thing to do when sitting outside enjoying the spring time sunshine. ;-) I like both plain and stenciled...perhaps you could try stenciling the exterior of the flowers instead of the interior for a look that takes advantage of both. I'm sure you have said before but what is the name of this favorite book?
ReplyDeletemamacita...yes, very zen! there's a link to the book in the post..last paragraph.
ReplyDeleteI love the stenciled! Very dramatic and nicely coordinated. Been looking at the list of supplies you use (your DVD arrives Monday I believe) and am wondering how to get 200 ct muslin without buying the entire bolt. That's a lot of muslin. Do you sell any yardage or know of someone who does?
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all your blog entries! I really enjoy seeing what you're up to.
Susan, don't worry about the 200ct---you really can use any smooth fabric...improvise is my middle name!
ReplyDeletevery fun, my dad used to make christmas ornaments out of old xmas cards just like the hanging sphere.
ReplyDeleteJane,
ReplyDeleteI love these - and the combination of the stenciled and non-stenciled. I recently received this book, and started making a village of houses. It is great fun. I will have to try these flowers next.
By the way, I received your DVD. I love, love, love it! Being in the Sketchbook and Watercolor - Journal Style class, it was nice to see some of your techniques for lessons that we did. But, my favorite part is the last section on mixed media. You are such a great source of inspiration, and have such a way of exposing the artist in those you teach!
I think you may run out of books in your personal library before too long... :)
ReplyDeleteThese are tooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThey're fantastic! I had my husband folding paper to make boxes a couple of weeks ago. He made it through two before wandering off.
ReplyDeleteJust seeing your beautiful banner has helped me wake up this morning!
