Completed "Nostalgia: Zinnia." I showed you how I started this quilt here.
This is another bit of letter from Ralph's Letters. I love using bits of his letters in my work. A reminder of such a crazy, happy, youthful time.
Backstory: I transfered the flower from my sketchbook, which was quite pink, but I didn't have pink thread, so I used a rosey brick color thread. It wasn't working. So I painted the flower a rosey brick color. Still wasn't working, so I covered the rosey brick stitching with tulle!
And the Sketchbook Challenge starts today! Jill Berry has chosen an awesome theme and I for one am thinking on it......

ReplyDeleteJust found your blog it's beautiful. My word for 2011 is Believe. 2010 was the first year I chose a word for the year. As I looked back on 2010 and my word which was Expect. I was amazed and blowen away by it. I also realized how surprised I was at my level of disbelief. So for 2011 it's BELIEVE

ReplyDeleteThe zinnia is a wonderful reminder that warmer days are around the corner. I have been pondering the theme for the sketchbook project and I think I have come up with a workable theme for the month. Now to do the work.;) My word this year is resilience.

I think my word for this year is going to be "delve." Delve into my stash, delve into my psyche, delve into my abilities. I love the flower! My word for this year is "settle". As in settle my restless thoughts, rest and settle from a never ending list of things that need to be done. I need to learn to pause and settle to rejuvenate.
